Petit to Marry Avon Photographer

Dr. William Petit met fiancee through fundraising events.

Dr. William Petit Jr., became engaged just after Christmas, his mother, Barbara Petit told The Hartford Courant.

His fiancee is Avon-based photographer Christine Paluf, who, as the Courant reported, has photographed many of the Petit Family Foundation events. The wedding date is unknown at this time.

"I believe we look at photographs to feel; to experience old memories, to dream.... but to go back on some level. Or to move forward," Paluf wrote in the biography section of her website.

The Petit Family Foundation was created in memory of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and daughters, Hayley and Michaela. It has raised funds for college scholarships and medical research. The three were killed after Joshua Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes invaded the Petit's home in July 2007.

Both men were for the crime.
