Perez Appears in Court on Threatening Charge

A parent said he threatened her son at East Haven High School in February.

A vice chairman of the Police Commission who was following an incident at the high school last month appeared briefly in New Haven Superior Court Tuesday.

The New Haven Register reported that the case involving Carl Perez was continued until April 3 and he was ordered to have no contact with the complainant.

Perez was charged following a complaint by a parent that Perez had threatened her son, a 14-year-old student at East Haven High School. Perez, who was released without bond, was employed as an in-school suspension security officer at the high school.
