On Tonight: Person of Interest, Private Practice and The League

It's Thursday, and Elissa gives us the television rundown.

Thursday Oct. 20

Person of Interest, 9 p.m., CBS
This show is silly. But every season I seem to fixate on one of the silly shows, one of the shows that requires a suspension of disbelief so great that at any moment I expect Tinkerbell to fly in the window and cup my face in her tiny hands. So this one is that. The premise is borderline outrageous, the dialogue is almost Razzie-worthy, Michael Emerson’s character is a conglomeration of so many tics and quirks that I feel myself twitching while I watch him. And yet … I love.

Private Practice, 10 p.m., ABC
Wow. This is still on? I had no idea.

The League, 10:30 p.m., FX
“Ruxin hires a hot au pair for baby Geoffrey and is afraid Taco will sleep with her; Andre explores on-line dating; Kevin cheats on Jenny.” All good reasons not to ever watch this.
