Metro-North Cancels Two Rush Hour Trains on New Haven Line

Transit authority says Con Edison power problems has lead to changes in this evening's schedule.

Because of continuing Con Edison-related power problems in the Park Avenue Tunnel, MetroNorth reports it has had to cancel two peak service trains tonight on the New Haven line.

The trains are:

  • The 5:36 PM from Grand Central will not operate: Customers should use the 5:38 PM train.
  • The 5:44 PM from Grand Central will not operate: Customers should use the 5:48 PM train.

In addition, trains along the Harlem Line, as well as the Hudson Line, were also cancelled this evening.

MTA said the train cancellations were needed to "ease congestion during the PM peak."

"Please note trains will feature extra cars to handle additional customers. You may still experience some crowded conditions. We appreciate your patience," MTA stated on its website.
