Looking to Appeal Your Motor Vehicle Property Tax Bill?

East Haven Assessor's Office will have applications for appeal available Aug. 1 to Aug. 20, with the Board of Assessment appeals holding a public hearing Sept. 17.

There who felt their motor vehicle's most recent property tax bill was too high.

Well, if you'd like to challenge that amount — now is your chance to appeal.

Applications for taxpayers who would like appeal the assessment on their motor vehicle for the Oct 1, 2011 Grand List will be available at East Haven Assessor's Office in town hall starting tomorrow, Aug. 1.

The office is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications will be available until Aug. 20.

Public Hearing Date

The East Haven Board of Assessment Appeals will hold a meeting for motor vehicle appeals on Sept. 17, from 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., in the Assessor's Office. 

The purpose of the meeting is to hear and act upon all requests by taxpayers seeking review of their motor vehicle assessments, according to the East Haven Mayor's Office.
