Hercules, the Homeless

The American bulldog currently resides at the East Haven Animal Shelter.

Meet Hercules.

He's currently hanging with the other homeless dogs at the East Haven Animal Shelter. His holiday wish is simple: a warm place to rest his weary head after a long day of playing. (Check out the accompanying video featuring Hercules demonstrating the fine canine art of ripping apart a stuffed animal.)

Here is his story.

Gender: male

Age: 2-3 years

Type: American bulldog mix

Color: tan and brown

Housebroken: yes

Neutered: yes

How arrived at the shelter: abandoned at shelter

Personality: Animal Control Officer Kristina Ruszczyk describes Hercules: "He has very unique facial markings. He sits very well. He likes daily walks but would probably love to curl up on the couch and watch TV. I think he'd be good with older children because of his size and strength."

Also waiting to be adopted:

An 8-month-old kitten

6 adult cats

7 adult dogs

3 puppies
