Got Advice For Your Newly Elected Officials?

Many East Haven residents said they will be looking for results in the coming weeks and months ahead. What do you think?

Last night : mayor and members of the Town Council, Board of Education, Board of Finance and Town Clerk.

Numerous comments on our Facebook page updates reporting the district-by-district mayoral voting returns last night had many residents discussing what will happen next now that at Town Hall following Saturday's recount.

Responding to comments on our story about Maturo's win, frequent East Haven Patch contributor wrote:

"Besides establishing a staff of trusted people to help guide him, the mayor by charter has numerous boards & commission spots that need to be filled upon current expiration, being usually the 1st of February. Now, he can keep those currently seated or replace them, but by charter can not exceed a set amount from each party... Hopefully those chosen will serve by the rules & regulations of that B or C, and keep politics out of any actions they take."

In addition to elected political positions, however, residents were also asked to directing the town on what it should do with the at 200 Tyler Street.

And one resident said she was disappointed by its results, in which the town's voters supported using the facility for a community purpose.

On our article posting the official election results, wrote:

"I am disappointed in the referendum vote. I would have preferred the town generate revenue from the sale and future revenue from taxes, without the expenditures of the first two options. The income generated from the sale could have been earmarked for projects to fulfill the needs addressed by the first and second option."
