The town pays tribute to its seniors with an annual celebration on the East Haven Town Green.

The following is a press release from the East Haven Mayor's Office.

The Town pays tribute to its seniors with an annual celebration on the , hosted by Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr., Saturday August 11th, from noon until 3:00 pm.

The ever-popular Vinny Carr will once again be the entertainment for dancing, much to the delight of all. This year’s festivities will also include door prizes and some informational tables.

A lunch fare of hotdogs, salads, pickles, chips, soda, coffee and dessert will be provided. Seniors are reminded to bring their own chairs for additional comfort.

All seniors are welcome to join the Mayor for this day of fun, food and entertainment.

“This annual day, dedicated to paying tribute to our “greatest generation”, is one of our Town’s most unique and enjoyable events. To be able to show our appreciation to those who sacrificed and toiled for many years for their family, their Town and of course their country, is one of my most pleasing tasks as Mayor and one I will always look forward to. Anything we can do to show our gratitude and repay our ancestors for all they have done for us, should always be one of our highest priorities.”, said Mayor Maturo.

In case of inclement weather, the festivities will be held at the , 91 Taylor Avenue.

I had family visit from out of town to attend a Little League game down by the beach. They justRead More loved the entire area, especially the splash pad and the Sandpiper. It made me stop, look around and appreciate how fortunate we are in East Haven to have such a great place for so many activities.

I'm disappointed with the new format. Doesn't seem to be very user friendly.

Gov. O'mally is ruining this State by driving more and more people into poverty, giving illegalsRead More drivers licenses, letting criminals out of jail early, pushing good companies out, and making it's citizens unsafe. Time to clean house starting locally!

WE THE PEOPLE have no say in how governments govern nor how OUR money is spent. WE supposedly electRead More people who take the trust of the people with them when elected and do the will of WE THE PEOPLE. This has never happened. Especially in state and federal office. Once in office the power they discover they now have pushes aside the will of the people. It an attitude of we have the power and you don't. Someday, but I doubt it, we can elect those who will not loose site of why they were elected.
