East Haven Semi-Annual Pickup of Appliances, Metals

Got a refrigerator, stove or washing machine you need to properly dispose of? The town's semi-annual metal pick up is next month — and Patch's got the details.

Got heavy metal? Well, East Haven has a pick up for that.

Residents will once again have the opportunity to get rid of those hard-to-dispose-of items during the town's next semi-annual pick up of appliances and metals next month.

The pick up will be conducted by Trash Master, the town’s refuse contractor.

All 1-3 Family Residences

All appliances — refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, etc. — and all metals must be placed at the curb by Monday, Oct. 22, at 6 a.m., for proper disposal.

This special pickup is for appliances and metals only. Town officials ask that residents refrain from placing regular acceptable bulk items on the curb during this week.

Additioanlly, items should not be placed at the curb earlier than five days before Oct. 22.

Condominiums

Condominium bulk pick-up will be Saturday, Oct. 13. And appliance and metal pick-up has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20.

Condo owners will be notified of the procedure to be followed at their location by their property managers, according to the Mayor's Office.

Items acceptable are in accordance with East Haven Municipal Refuse, Waste and Recycling Program.
