Unemployment declines not because more people are employed, but because less people are collecting due to the benefits running out. You can only collect for so long.
I agree Don't be fooled the new adminastration has been in office for six months and has done nothing in the way of promoting East Haven or stimulating the local economy to provide jobs except make speeches with empty words and broken promises. One has to look no further then his promise of a grocery Store filling the vacant A&P spot on Rte 80 by summer. Next weekend is the start of summer and yet the store still sits empty.

we need to get back in the timeless beauty of BARTERING, to create work, the roadsides and along the rail tracks are over littered.

Perhaps the van driver needed to help out the elderly and disabled residents should be a paid position, Two drivers or one and subs. They would need to be insured and paid by the town due to the liability it carries. They would have to be drug/alcohol tested and go through training as any school bus driver would. This should not be a volunteer position, thus increasing East Haven's employment of its townspeople
