Construction on I-91 Planned for Summer

The entire roadway from New Haven to North Haven will be resurfaced by Department of Transportation.

The section of I-91 running from New Haven to just north of the Montowese Avenue overpass in North Haven will be refurbished by the state Department of Transportation beginning this summer.

According to the department, the work will involve the laying of an asphalt overlay over the portion of highway for the purposes of pavement preservation.

The state does not expect to hold a public session to discuss the project — as it will later this month for the of the Route 100/Route 1 intersection — officials are asking residents to share their concerns before paving is underway.
