Connecticut Sets Conditions For Immigrant Detentions
New protocols require officials to see if suspects have gang, terrorist ties or outstanding warrants.

The New Haven Register reported that state Department of Correction Commissioner signed administrative rules for the program, which allows local law enforcement agencies to detain for an extra 48 hours at the request of federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
The newspaper said the protocols provide a list of conditions for corrections officials and police departments to consider, such as evidence that the suspect has ties to gangs or terrorism or any outstanding warrants.
