The following is a press release from the East Haven Mayor's Office.
Due to the severity of the blizzard, East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr has declared a state of emergency.
The mayor is requesting all citizens to remain home and off the roads until the road crews are givem the time to clear the streets and make them safe for normal travel.
He once again reminds residents vehicles should be parked off the roads if at all possible and in cases were they cannot, parking should be on the even side of the street.
