1644: East Haven's first settler, Thomas Gregson, later lost at sea.
1644: First bridge built in East Haven was over the Stoney River on the road to Totoket Mountain.
1658: First ironworks in Connecticut near Lake Saltonstall.
1680: East Haven became a village.
1682: Dispute over Branford Hill settled by the General Assembly; East Haven got the half-mile in Foxon.
