Lets Hear from the 99th District Candidates Not Robert Hoff...

Political Discussion

As I read Mr. Hoff’s bizarre assessment of the 99th District election this November I’ve couldn’t help notice that his implied insults about candidate Craig Cubellotti was just the run of the mill nonsense that spews out of his fingertips as they hit the keyboard. His juvenile assessment is what is exactly wrong with politics today. Maybe we just need a common sense approach to fix common sense problems.

I find it quite humorous that Mr. Hoff constantly promotes the person with the most education as the most qualified to lead the position. Well, if that is the qualification then we certainly have something wrong with our college system because the last two Presidents of the United States came from Yale and Harvard and just look how screwed up the country is. Millions of jobs lost, an economy that can’t get going, taxes out of control and leadership that has failed on every level both Democrat and Republican.

As someone who has been through the wringer of both private and public institutions of higher learning I can honestly say I’ve met a mixture of both brilliance and ignorance but what has impressed me more than anything is the person that can relate to the everyday person on the street and the facts are that in East Haven not everyone was a lawyers son with respected high connections with a paid full ride to NYU. Many East Haven residents have to scrape and save especially now to just get by and to insult a candidate because he decided to take similar path that many of us have done is just plain insulting and down-right arrogant and demeaning.

We have two very young candidates with different ideas on what should be done in Hartford. I know both of these two young men and have a great deal of respect for both of them. Maybe instead of hearing from blowhards like Mr. Hoff, who likes to run his mouth and who would never have the courage to run for elected office, we really should hear from the two candidates instead.

Lastly, I think it would be in the Democrats best interests to find something constructive and positive for Mr. Hoff to do. His attempts to be the front man for the party are a disaster and breed very little results except for the snickering and whispers of those who think of him as the true party animal…The jack-ass.
