East Haven's Aurora Senior Living and Caroline Manor were both fined this month by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Two East Haven nursing homes were fined this month by the Connecticut Department of Public Health for failing to meet state mandates.

This month, the department issued six fines to area nursing homes. Two of the nursing homes that were fined were Aurora Senior Living and Caroline Manor, both of East Haven, according to the New Haven Register.

Aurora Senior Living was fined $470 after it allowed two residents to leave the facility unescorted, despite attempts to keep them from leaving, according to the  New Haven Register. Caroline Manor, meanwhile, was fined $290 for delaying giving an antibiotic to a resident with an infection and then giving a resident another resident’s blood pressure medication, according to the Register.
