What's Your Favorite East Haven Deli?

Sub Boss remains in the lead, but there's still time to vote for your favorite East Haven spot for a sandwich.

Each of us has a favorite place to go — and Patch's weekly Readers’ Choice contest will tackle more subjects soon enough.

Your local Patch editors all feel this is going to be a great category to let our readers debate and discuss: What’s your favorite deli, and why?

See the list and poll below for your options.

You have a favorite sandwich? Tell your neighbors why it’s so great by posting a rating on East Haven Patch's Places directory — just click on the link to your go-to sandwich shop below — and cast your vote in our poll (just once please!)

The poll part isn't scientific so it's not the sole determinant of a Readers' Choice winner. Our local editor will determine winner based on a point system in which poll results and ratings are considered equally.

See our rules for more information (attached).

Thanks! Questions? Email me at julie.weisberg@patch.com

Here's your list (don't see your favorite deli here—let us know in the comments and we'll add it!):

Thanks, Ivanna. I'll remove it from the poll and update the listing — strange it was listed in EHP's directory. But now we know. Thanks again!
SubBoss Sangwiches March 26, 2012 at 03:47 PM
Sun Boss has the best and most creative sangwiches. There's no rules if you wanna put it on your sangwich, it goes on your sangwich.

Aniello's makes the best hot subs in town..... Hands down!

Julie Weisberg (Editor) March 26, 2012 at 09:16 PM
Stavenite: Thanks for the heads up. I'll add Aniello's to our poll!
Julie Weisberg (Editor) March 26, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Ivanna: As always, thanks for letting me know! Another addition!

The deli mart has the best quality of cold cuts and their sandwiches are full and not pricey like other establishments.

The Habachi Chinese Buffet, in Orange is a place to go, it has an awesome buffet and selections for everyones taste. Not costly either. So much food hard to choose.

We need more places in East Haven, Sadly I always seem to have to go out of the town to have something I like. I will give Aniellos 5 points , they do make an awesome grinder.
Lise Cavallaro March 27, 2012 at 01:07 PM
We need a deli-type place in Foxon besides Subway.

I think it's clear from these responses that there are no great delis in East Haven. Excellent Italian sandwiches but no classic deli food. Twin Pines comes closest to producing a pastrami or corned beef on rye. Anyone remember Al's on Whalley Ave? That may have been the last authentic deli in the area.

You have to go to Amity Rd. in Woodbridge for original New York style deli.
Lisa March 28, 2012 at 05:23 PM
Why are there no Latino buisnesses on this list?
Julie Weisberg (Editor) March 28, 2012 at 05:29 PM
Lisa: If you know of a deli or sandwich shop that's missing from the list, please let us know. And I'll be glad to add it to our poll!

I agree Lisa!!!
