[UPDATED] Supercuts Opening in East Haven

The national hair salon chain says it's hoping to have its new salon open by mid-June in the Trolley Square Plaza.

Update at 9:30 a.m. on Friday

Supercuts tells East Haven Patch that it hopes to have its new salon in the Trolley Square Plaza open by mid-June.

A company spokesperson said there is no set date yet for an official opening, as there is still some construction work that must be completed at the site in setting up the new store front.

Original Story

residents who like to keep a close eye on style will soon have another option when it comes to managing their carefully coiffed cuts.

Supercuts, the national hair salon chain, is set to open a new store in the Trolley Square Plaza.

Although Supercuts did not immediately return a Monday afternoon call from East Haven Patch, the company reports the new salon will be "Opening Soon" at 300 Hemingway Avenue on its website.

A local phone number is also listed, but it is not yet in service.

In addition, within the last few days Regis — Supercuts' parent company — has placed online advertisments looking to hire local hair stylists for the new East Haven salon.

The new Supercuts comes about six months after its doors in the plaza.

East Haven Patch will provide an update on the new salon's opening date as soon as additional information becomes available.

Great for the town of EH, but what does this do for Foxon? Not much. Still a ton of empty storefronts. Foxon looks like a ghost town. Anyone know where I can get some of those dead shrubs they use in the old cowboy movies so I can have them blow up and down RT. 80? We already have Josey Wales, lol.

I see that the Home Goods store has a big For Lease sign on the front of it. What happened to Hobby Lobby?

I agree Lou..I have asked Julie for an update for the Foxon area as well. On the other hand, I know one of the stylists that has been hired, so it's nice to see a young person getting a job in EH.

Your right Matt, The report made to us in Town that we are getting Hobby Lobby in the Center and Shop Rite in Foxon, Both great Stores that we can use. Since that report no other up dates on the progress of this taking place.

A Supercuts? Really?? What is happening with Hobby Lobby and Shop Rite? I don't know how I missed the update but just found out the Hobby Lobby deal isn't complete yet either. How could the mayor announce 2 new stores will be opening when neither deal is finalized??! Especially when we are desperate for ANY kind of industry in town? You really can't make this stuff up!

lol...good one neighbor!
Weren't both of those stores your refering to suppossed to be open by Summer? Well that starts this weekend and still no stores.
Lise Cavallaro May 22, 2012 at 04:20 PM
I am disappointed that Shop Rite and Hobby Lobby have not confirmed any deals yet. However, technically the first day of summer is June 20, 2012. Since I choose to be optimistic, maybe we will hear something by then.

Lou, they are called Tumbleweeds. Yes, there is a women who made over a million and still counting by selling them through a web site.

Great to have ANOTHER hair salon, outnumbered only by nail salons. Well at least we'll be well-groomed inhabitants of an emerging ghost town. Sorry, rainy days tend to make me a little cynical.

Look on the bright side Foxon residents, you have a large supply of marijuana, pills, coke and heroine available for sale in the Krausers parking lot. Just look for the cars backed into dark corner to the left of the store.
donna May 23, 2012 at 12:13 PM
Maybe this comment as a "bright side", is funny to you, but there is nothing "bright" about it. Police please take notice if this is true. I am happy about "Supercut" coming to East Haven"
Lise Cavallaro May 23, 2012 at 12:29 PM
I live around the corner from Krauser's, so I don't see it as a bright side. I also don't go to Krauser's, mainly because everything is overpriced, and the store and parking lot are filthy and filled with trash. However, if you have seen this for yourself, I would hope you have called the police.

Nice to see its going right next store to a salon that has been in business for over 15 years!!! Why are all the big names trying to push out the local businesses!! I am not a fan of this!!!
