New Subway Opens in Trolley Square Plaza

The national sandwich shop chain opened the doors of its newest East Haven location for the first time this afternoon.

Another once-vacant East Haven storefront has now been filled.

A new Subway sandwich shop opened its doors for the first time today in the Trolley Park Plaza. It is the third Subway in town, joining stores at 521 Main St. and 693 Foxon Road.

Although the shop had just opened earlier today — and is still a few days away from getting its credit/debit card service up and running — several people were already popping in and out at noontime to order some lunch.

Stephen Pannone, a North Haven-based Subway development official who manages a large district within the company that includes New Haven County, told East Haven Patch today he expects to hold an official grand opening in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, the shop will be open on a daily basis ready to serve its customers, Pannone said.
