New ShopRite Anticipated To Open October 1

The Rotary Club of East Haven hosted the owner-operator of the new East Haven ShopRite, Harry Garafalo, as their featured speaker during a recent weekly dinner meeting held at Twin Pines Diner Restaurant in East Haven.

The East Haven Store on Route 80 in Foxon will be Garafalo's fifth location. His other locations include stores in West Haven, Hamden, Milford and Stratford.

He is anticipating the opening of the East Haven store around October 1st.

At the meeting, Garafalo gave a presentation of the history of his company and the many various community charities that his organization and employees have assisted to raise funds for within his current locations. His organization has already taken an active part as a sponsor for East Haven's Fall Festival and VVA Fireworks-Beach Party community events. Garafalo is currently a member of the Milford Rotary Club.

Garafalo mentioned that almost 1,500 people applied for the approximate 275 jobs that are being created with the new East Haven store location.
