East Haven's unemployment rate dipped slightly over the last month, but the town's overall joblessless rate still sits at double-digit levels.
According to the latest figures released by the Connecticut Department of Labor, East Haven's unemployment for August was 10.0 percent.
In July, the town's unemployment rate sat at 10.2.
Additionally, the department's figures also showed the labor force in East Haven dropped slightly over the same period: from 16,857 in July to 16,614 in August.
State, National Unemployment Rate
In Connecticut, the pool of jobless people last month held steady to 9.2 percent overall. Nationally, the United State's unemployment rate is 8.2 percent.
Locally, Branford's unemployment rate currently sits at 7.9 percent, North Branford at 7.7 percent and North Haven's is at 8.7 percent.

East Haven Numbers
East Haven's unemployment rate reached its three-year low in April, rose to 8.7 percent in May, was 8.4 percent in March, 8.6 percent in February and 8.7 percent in January. And the town's rate was 8.4 percent in December.
In 2011 East Haven’s annual average unemployment rate was 9.7 percent. In 2010 it was 10.2 percent.
The town's highest reported unemployment rate over the last two years was in January 2011, when 10.7 percent of East Haven was out of work.
