East Haven Resident New Director of Dining Services at Non-Profit

Josh Urbano will oversee the dining services for a not-for-profit healthcare organization based out of New Canaan, Connecticut.

East Haven resident Josh Urbano has been promoted to Director of Dining Services for Waveny Care Network, following a steady course of promotion over the past three years since joining the not-for-profit healthcare organization. 

In his new position, Urbano will oversee and manage dining operations at both Waveny’s Farm Road campus – which includes food services for the Care Center, The Village, the Adult Day Program and Meals on Wheels – as well as at New Canaan Inn, Waveny’s independent living residence at 73 Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan, CT.

Primary focuses going forward will be ongoing quality maintenance and enhancement of Waveny’s new system of “point of service” or “restaurant style” dining, wherein food delivery and plating occurs in dining rooms and on units.

Through Waveny’s partnership with Morrison Dining Services, Urbano first joined the Waveny organization in 2011 as Chef Manager at New Canaan Inn. Soon thereafter in 2012, he was promoted to Executive Chef at Waveny’s main campus, the position he served in most recently. 

 “I am very excited to lead our talented dietary staff, with whom I’ve come to work very smoothly over the past few years,” said Urbano. “Waveny is, and has always been, a benchmark of quality in healthcare, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to enhance the dining services of an already-stellar organization.”
