Arts Day at the Shore Line Trolley Museum

Shoreline Arts Alliance and Shore Line Trolley Museum will be collaborating on a special day bringing the arts, history and heritage together for a family-fun day on September 22nd 10am - 4:30pm hosted at The Trolley Museum, 17 River Street, East Haven, CT.

$10 covers Admission to the art exhibits, workshops, hands-on activities and all day rides on the Trolleys! The Trolley Museum, Grounds and the Antique Trolleys themselves are the backdrop for artwork from the talented artists associated with the Shoreline Arts Alliance including painting, photography, storytelling, and exhibits of all kinds! The trolleys will be running so you can ride a piece of historic art from the turn of the last century!

The Museum provides a great venue for the entire family to have fun and learn how trolleys helped form our communities. One can ride a piece of living history through scenic wildlife waterways in Connecticut while stopping along the way to visit with the artists who will be presenting their work inside some of these historic train cars.

Artists and activities include: Cathi Bosco, author and illustrator of the children’s book, Be the Kite! Readings and hands on activity hourly, books for sale; Anne Kubitsky, founder Look for the Good project and author & illustrator of Gracie's Catch-readings and hands on activities; Sara Drought Nebel, poet and painter-works on display & for sale; Mary Ann Flick, photographer-works on display & for sale; Allison Maltese, photographer-works on display & for sale; Archie Stone, photographer-offering landscape workshop at 11:30am (bring your cameras); New Haven Camera Club, photo outing; Cat Urbain, author Manuel and the Lobsterman, story readings 1- 3pm, books for sale, lobsterpot demo; Gene Kloszewski, visual artist- works on display and for sale.

Mark your calendars for September 22 and take an exciting ride into history. Hear the sound of steel on steel as you smell the sweet aroma of shoreline salt marsh and view wildlife such as the majestic Osprey and the artwork of some of the Shoreline’s most talented artists. It's a journey back in time you will not forget soon! Children help the Motorman prepare the trolley for the trip. This leisurely adventure takes you away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. Your ticket is good on all trolley cars for the entire day. We recommend that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your desired departure time. Trolley cars depart the station building on the half hour, beginning at 10:30am. Last car departs at 4:30pm. Be sure to wear comfortable/sturdy walking shoes.
