'Across the Americas' Concert for Families Coming Soon at the Library

CT Humanities sponsors Roger Tincknell "Across the Americas" concert at Hagaman Library in East Haven August 5.

Families are in for a treat on August 5 at Hagaman Memorial Library in East Haven when performer Roger Tincknell arrives!

Tincknell has been performing for children and adults throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe for more than 30 years.

His strong, expressive vocal styles, show stopping yodeling and masterful instrumental skills bring a warmth and versatility to his performances. He is a two-time Parents' Choice Award-winning recording artist with numerous CDs for children and adults.

"My performances are highly interactive often involving audiences in singing, moving, dancing and playing percussion instruments," says Tincknell. "Across the Americas is an exciting multicultural folk music journey from Canada to Chile. The program explores our rich and diverse heritage through songs in many languages performed on a variety of stringed, wind and percussion instruments."

Songs in Spanish, French and many other languages are included. As Tincknell notes, from Native and African Americans to European and Southeast Asian immigrants, the people who made their homes in Connecticut brought the richness of their cultures to create uniquely wonderful music.

This performance will be enjoyed by people of all ages, from preschoolers on up.

The concert will be held at 2pm on Monday, August 5 in Hagaman Library's DeMayo Room, 227 Main Street, East Haven.
