OpSail 2012 got off to a bit of a late start on Saturday, as the process of untangling an anchor chain and slack winds out of Niantic meant the Coast Guard barque Eagle and the Navy's USS Carter Hall started up the Thames River closer to noon than 10 a.m.
The crowds at and bore the delay patiently, however, checking out the musical entertainment and other attractions available.
The festivals continue through today with ship tours, a 5k running race, amusement rides and games, and musical entertainment.
This video features scenes from Saturday's Parade of Sail, flyover by Coast Guard aircraft, and a performance of "Paddy Lie Back" by the Free Men of the Sea. Did you take any photos or videos of Saturday's festivities? Share them here!
