UPDATE: East Haven Christmas Tree Pickups Continue

The recent snow storms have delayed the efforts to gather and properly dispose all of the trees. But town crews continue their pickups daily.

Still have that Christmas tree at your curb? Wondering if it will still be picked up by the town? Good news: it will, eventually.

According to the Assistant Director of Administration & Management Frank Gentilesco since Jan. 13 — which was the official deadline for residents to put out the trees — due to holidays and a couple of snow events ,

"We had a limited number of work days to do that type of work," Gentilesco told East Haven Patch in an email.

He reported that the Department of Public Services has, on a normal day, a minimum of two crews solely focused on picking up trees — in some cases they are picking up as many as 200 trees per day.

"So we are trying to get to everyone’s trees as soon as possible," Gentilesco said.
