Photo Contest: East Haven's Crazy Cats!

Enter your favorite photo of your cat being crazy, funny, silly or adorable, and you could win a prize!

A wise man once said, “The Internet was created for people who love cat photos.” At Patch, we believe that to be true. And since our photo contests recently featured dogs, and then athletes, and then kids, it seemed natural that it was Kitty’s time to shine.

So we invite you to share your favorite photo(s) of your feline friend(s) doing what they do best – acting silly. You can submit as many photos as you’d like. Photos can be entered from 4 a.m., Monday Sept. 17 until 5 p.m., Friday Sept. 21.

Patch editors will then choose their favorites – up to 10 – and on Monday we will post a new article featuring each Patch regions’ winners. Voting in a poll will commence at 4 a.m., Monday Sept.  24 and end at 5 p.m., Friday Sept. 28.

On Monday, Oct. 1, we will post the 5 regional winning cat photos, and voting in a poll will run from 4 a.m., that day through 5 p.m. Oct. 5.

The article featuring Eastern Connecticut’s Craziest Cat will be published Monday Oct. 8.

Please note that this contest is being run differently than the Top Dog contest because we had problems with some people not being able to behave themselves. So, we are not allowing commenting on any of the cat articles, and we are using our polling rather than commenting because it is more difficult to mess around with. You do need to be a registered Patch user to enter a photo and to vote in a poll, and you can do that by clicking the Sign Up button in the top right corner of the home page.

Some more important details:

  • Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
  • To enter, upload a photo.
  • All entries must be received by 5 p.m. Friday Sept. 21 Eastern Time.
  • You may enter as often as you like.
  • The winner of the last portion of the contest – Eastern Connecticut’s Craziest Cat – will receive a $100 gift card or a prize package of equal or greater value.
  •  Read the complete rules here.

I'm disappointed with the new format. Doesn't seem to be very user friendly.

Gov. O'mally is ruining this State by driving more and more people into poverty, giving illegalsRead More drivers licenses, letting criminals out of jail early, pushing good companies out, and making it's citizens unsafe. Time to clean house starting locally!

WE THE PEOPLE have no say in how governments govern nor how OUR money is spent. WE supposedly electRead More people who take the trust of the people with them when elected and do the will of WE THE PEOPLE. This has never happened. Especially in state and federal office. Once in office the power they discover they now have pushes aside the will of the people. It an attitude of we have the power and you don't. Someday, but I doubt it, we can elect those who will not loose site of why they were elected.

Beth - I am sorry to hear about your disappointment and I'll try to explain a few of your points.Read More First, Patch is a community forum as well as a news source. We have been looking for sports-minded folks to blog for us and keep us informed about events such as the softball team's state playoffs. We don't have a sports editor to cover just sports for the town so we rely on folks in the community to help us all stay informed. Many Patch sites have a sports blogger who reports on sports. Anyone interested?? In regard to the accident on No. High Street, you are correct in the fact that minimal information was reported and there was a reason for that - because minimal information was released to the press. We asked, we didn't get answers. And with our new format, there are 'bugs' in the system which are being worked out, so we apologize for all of them ahead of time, especially when links don't work or when spacing is off. It's frustrating, I understand. Please continue to support the EH Patch.
