Pet of the Week: Quentin

Playful male pooch rescued from the Q-Bridge late last week.

You have to wonder if Quentin the dog knows somehow — on some level — how lucky he is to be so happy, healthy and well.

The young male dog, a brindled mixed breed who is about one year old, was found running lose along the busy Q-Bridge in New Haven on Oct. 7.

Thankfully, Quentin was rescued by a passerby who brought him to the safety, security and care of the East Haven Animal Shelter.

Animal Control Officer Kristina Ruszczyk said considering all he has been through, Quentin is a rather well-adjusted animal, who gets along quite well with other dogs.

"But he would certainly progress quicker in a home environment," Ruszczyk said.

She added that he's also a "good size" for a family dog, weighing in at about 35 to 40 pounds.

"He's very compact," Ruszczyk said.

He is also very friendly dog, giving out plenty of kisses and attention to East Haven Patch during yesterday afternoon's visit at the shelter.

Also, is still looking for a forever home. Contact the shelter if you think you might be the one.
