Live Updates on October Nor'easter 2011

A public forum to stay informed and share information about the storm.

Across Connecticut, the first nor'easter of the winter is making its mark as hundreds of thousands of resident are without power.

Snow totals vary by town, from a dusting to upwards of 6 inches. Downed trees and wires have been reported in nearly every community. Winds are whipping up to 60 miles per hour and coastal flooding is expected with the next high tide during the early morning hours.

There's a lot of information out there, but we want to hear from you. What's it like on your street? Where are you seeing trees down? How much snow is in your yard?

Share your news through our live blog and upload your pics, too!

Pamela: Sorry about your power being out. I know UI customers can report outages by calling 203-499-3333. When you call, they may give you an estimated time for your power to return. Unfortunately, when we get releases from the utilities they do not include specific information as far as power restoration. But I will do my best to post updates as they become available. And make sure you let us know when you're back online!

Today, I'm recovering from yesterday's drive through the blizzard from NY to Westport to eat chili in a church's contest. Bliz was adventurous fun. Saw a CT cop with only his shirt on wipe icy snow off a stuck motorist's windshield with his bare hands. Hank and I swirved and darted our car to avoid falling tree limbs on the Merritt Parkway. It was an exciting but safe day in the bliz.

Malloy is "speaking" right now. UH UH ummm UHUH UH ummmmmmmmm! Are they going to release his statement in ENGLISH so we know what the he$$ he is saying? I really think he need's to go back to School and really learn how to talk! ummmm is not a word. My heart goes out to anyone who lost power but I do understand them trying to get the police and hospital and fire department up and running first.
