East Haven's '2013 People of the Year'

A concerned parent of an East Haven middle school student and a dedicated community volunteer are among those honored by readers' nominations this year.

We asked you, our readers, to submit nominations for East Haven Patch’s 2013 People of the Year.

Below you’ll find the individuals most-nominated for recognition as People of the Year, as well as some words about what makes them such an important part of the community.

Thanks to everyone who participated and all the people who work to make East Haven a better place.

From Flowers: "I nominate Angelo Appi, a man who saw risk for our town children and did something about , then stood his ground. A worthy candidate for man of the year." (The breach of peace charges against Appi were recently dismissed by a judge in the Superior Court in New Haven.)
