SATURDAY: Parking Bans In Place for New Haven Mayor's Inauguration Ball

Mayor Harp's Inauguration Ball will be held at Robinson Aviation on Thompson Avenue in East Haven. And with some 1,000 people expected to attend, a parking ban for many area streets will be in place for the evening.

The following is a traffic alert from the East Haven Police Department.

Mayor Harp’s Inauguration Ball is being held at Robinson Aviation, 50 Thompson Avenue in East Haven. 

The event is scheduled for Saturday March 29, 2014, which includes a private reception from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by the ball from approximately 8:00 p.m. to midnight.

Approximately 1,000 guests are expected and parking will be by valet only.

In anticipation of parking issues in the neighborhood of Robinson Aviation, parking bans will be in effect for most of the East Haven streets surrounding the event site.

The following streets will have a parking ban in effect for tomorrow in anticipation of Mayor Harp's Inauguration Ball. The parking ban will be lifted after the event.

The following streets will have (no parking) on the utility pole side:

  • Kenneth 
  • Duncan
  • Gerald
  • Osmond
  • Victor
  • Waldo
  • Donald
  • Edgar
  • Burgess


Thompson Avenue will have (no parking) on either side of the street from Dodge Avenue south.
