The following is a press release from the newly formed East Haven chapter of the League of Women Voters.

We are pleased to officially announce the local League of Women Voters chapter in East Haven.

The LWV has always been active in our community as far as organizing debates and raising political awareness.

The purpose of the League of Women Voters of East Haven, is to educate and inspire the citizens of East Haven to become active participants in their governance.

We are also hoping to incorporate not only Mayoral debates but also elected boards.

League members are men (since 1974) and women who wish to become better informed about government processes and to work for more transparent and effective government on the municipal and state level.

Elected Board of Directors selected for the East Haven chapter are as follows:

  • Co-Presidents - Marianne Cesare & Sue Colangelo
  • Secretary/Chair of Bylaws - Donna Richo
  • Treasurer - Mike Speer
  • Communications Director - Julie Weisberg
  • Voter Services - MaryAnn Pellegrino
