East Haven Animal Shelter to Host 'Rabies & Microchip Clinic'

Don't forget: June is dog licensing month throughout the state. And the shelter's May 31 clinic will allow residents to ensure their dog is up to date on their rabies vaccination in order to receive the required new license.

The month of June is just around the corner. And that means the deadline to re-license Fido's or FiFi's or Fred's town dog license is soon approaching.

To help ensure your family dog's up to date on their rabies shot, the East Haven Animal Shelter will be hosting a “Rabies & Microchip Clinic” on Saturday, May 31 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The shelter is located at 183 Commerce Street.

The cost of the rabies vaccine will be $15. And the microchip is for $35 per animal. Payments will be cash only.

East Haven Animal Control Officer Own Little reminds owners that dogs must be on leashes and cats secured in carriers.

All towns require dogs to be licensed during the month of June each year and each dog owner must present proof of a current rabies vaccination.
