East Haven Road Conditions

This snow storm did not produce a large amount of snow however the roads in East Haven are terrible some 30 hours after the storm ended. Why didn't the town have the crew out today cleaning up the roads while the sun was out? This was a perfect time to remove the snow from the roads before it re-freezes tonight. Private parking lots and condo's are in better shape then most of the secondary roads here in town. Who is at fault for this?

Dominic, Mayor maturo fired the Public Works Supervisor Robert Parente before the storm hit leaving the department without a supervisor.

Clean up today would make no sense since it will begin melting tomorrow. Salt does not work in temperature as cold as today either. Might as well save the over time and have them work on Monday. Just my 0.02

East haven can't even plow right! This town is a joke! I was driving in Hamden and Branford and the roads are in great condition!

Patrick, Thank You for the information.

Dom, Anytime you want to jump in a truck with me feel free. I am sure the roads you saw in Branford were done by the state...I live in Branford and the roads were not in great condition...

The town needs to start towing people that don't adhere to the parking ban. I know at least two homes on my street that have driveways, yet they had cars on the street.

I don't expect the roads to be cleared completely down to the pavement, but our street was completely untouched thru mid-afternoon following the storm. My neighbor had to call DPW to let them know they forgot us. Don't they have pre-planned routes to make sure every street gets done?

Some guy said here last year Public Works could be managed on the back of a McDonalds napkin- anyone remember who that guy was?

Yeah-It was me! As a matter of fact I was blistering over the response my wife got when she called DPW and was told that her complaint had to be added to a list! There is a huge lack of pride in East Haven and it is driven from the top down. All you need to do is drive down Main St. Right after the Christmas decorations are installed to see that as many as 4-5 of those pole trees never even worked. It reminds me of the movie Beetlejuice. As far as DPW snappy retorts about working hard, yes we appreciate the men trying to keep the roads clear. We are all just suck of being told our taxes are low like that's supposed to placate us all. Give us a plan that provides clear plans to improve infrastructure in this town. We are all waiting Mr. Mayor.

I live in Foxon - had no problems on my street. As a matter of fact, this last storm was the best job they have ever done plowing.
