Sports writer Don Harrison, author of Hoops in Connecticut: The Nutmeg State’s Passion for Basketball appeared at the on Thursday, Jan. 12.
Don graduated from in 1957. He is pictured here with Bill Pite (middle), class of 1959 who became a dentist.
On the end is John Grieco, a retired insurance executive, East Haven High School class of 1958. Don, Bill and John used to play ball together in High School.
Don spent much of his youth in East Haven and Hoops in Connecticut features two influential coaches in his life, East Haven High Coach Frank Crisafi and one of Harrison’s classmates, two-time All-State selection Ralph Paolillo from the old East Haven High School on Tyler Street.
