Hello All,
Thank you to all the voters of East Haven, Connecticut, and America. We can all be proud of the voter turnout. No matter how you voted, our democracy is strong and this country set's the stage for the rest of the world to follow. We should all be “Proud to be an American”.
Here in East Haven the Democratic support for our candidates was tremendous, East Haven is a very Blue Town. All the people who worked to get out the vote for our candidates can be very proud of yourselves; you all did a super job. The margin of victory for James Albis was almost 2 to 1. This great victory came about with a great deal of hard work from James and the people who helped him make all those phone calls and went door to door introducing themselves to the voters of East Haven. Congratulations James.
Steve Fontana, you have nothing to be ashamed of, you did a great job against an opponent that has been in his position for a long time with strong roots in this town. Your hard work helped to bring out over 70% of the voters, and though you did not win your performance during this campaign was over the top, I was proud to work with you. You will be back I’m sure, for you have so much to offer the people of the 34th Senate district.
Chris Murphy, Rosa, and President Obama did a truly great job proving to the State and Country that a good message is more important to the voters than how much money you spend on negative campaigning.
So once again I say thank you to the voters of our town, and may we always remain Blue.
Gene Ruocco East Haven Democratic Town Committee Chairman
