This past Thursday afternoon, the East Haven Freshman Football Team took it to Foran High School and shut them out 30-0, bringing the season reacord for the freshman team to 2W&2L.
After losing two straight to powerhouse Fairfield Prep and a good North Haven team, the Freshman Football Team came out against Foran of Milford, and scored 28 points in the second half to win 30-0.
Trevor Angelo lead the team to it's first score at the end of the 2nd quarter. The Easties came out in the second half with a running game lead by Noah Fiorillo and Austin Thornberg. John Gianfriddo and Tyler Spano helped the defense gain a shutout.
Gianfriddo, Mikey Griffith and Austin Thornberg all had interceptions. Scores in the second half were by Noah Fiorillo, who was pounding for yards through the middle of the Foran defense and Austin Thornberg who countered for a 65 Yard TD.
In Coach Mark Curcio's words, "This was a good game for us after two tough opponents. We made mistakes in the first half, but the good news is that they were correctable mistakes. The second half we challenged our team's toughness and they responded very well. Now, we build off this for our next game {Thursday October 11th}vs Jonathan Law.
