Do You Know a Woman Who Has Been Diagnosed with Breast Cancer?

Please help reserachers and care providers improve healthy behaviors in breast cancer survivors!

You can help if you were first diagnosed with breast cancer in the past 1.5 years, or if you can forward this to friends or family who may wish to participate.

This is a mail-based intervention for breast cancer survivors, in order to promote their healthy behaviors. Participants will be assigned to one of two arms: immediate intervention or delayed intervention.

If assigned to the immediate intervention, materials will be received every other week for 4 months. If assigned to the delayed intervention, the same materials as the immediate intervention will be provided after 7 months.

All participants will complete questionnaires at the end of the 4 months, and 3 months later for a follow-up. To compensate for participants’ time, all participants will receive $60 after completing 4 and 7 month assessments.

You can participate if you:

* Can read and write English

* First diagnosed with breast cancer in the past 1.5 years

* Recently completed treatment for stage 0~2 breast cancer

* Want to improve health behaviors

* Are not participating in other health behavior research right now

To participate, please contact Dr. Park, 860-486-3520

This research study is conducted by the University of Connecticut and Hartford Hospital, supported by the National Cancer Institute.

This study was approved by the Hartford Hospital IRB: Protocol number HHPARK003382
