Who Makes East Haven's Best Burger?

The Sandpiper continues to remain in the lead in this week's poll, but there's still time for you to cast your vote!

In its purest form it's just a beef patty on a bun. But today's burgers are much more complex, with toppings that range from the classic lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mustard to items that include everything from bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos, avocado, chili or a fried egg. You could even get a burger made from turkey meat or bison, or a veggie one, too. When it comes down to it, you could put just about anything on a burger. And there are some great restaurants serving some incredible burgers right here in East Haven. In this week's Readers' Choice contest, we want to know which place has the absolute best burger in town. Vote for your favorite in the poll and, most importantly, rate and review the place in our directory (by …

This message stream seems to be going nowhere. We all confirm that McDonalds and Wendy's are good and the best unaffiliated burger in East Haven is at a seafood restaurant in Momauguin. As for me I prefer my own hand formed , high fat content beauties served on a crusty roll. Anyone for pink slime?   more ›

East Haven In Business

Shoreline Electrolysis: Linda Velazquez

The East Haven resident is taking a leadership role in her field, recently being named to the executive board of the association that oversees the profession here in Connecticut.

Sometimes the path to professional expertise is paved through personal experience. And that would certainly be the case with Linda Velazquez. Velazquez, a longtime East Haven resident, is the owner of Shoreline Electrolysis. The Branford-based business, which sits just over the East Haven town line on East Main Street, serves a growing customer base from throughout the shoreline area. Personal Connection And Velazquez came to her career through her own battles with unwanted facial hair. "I have hair on my full upper lip. And I used to have to wax it up to three times a week," the North Branford native said, adding the process was timely, painful — and just plain annoying. But then a friend, who had the same issue, told her she had another …

If You Own or Love a Small Business in Town, Read This

Claiming your business on East Haven Patch offers huge rewards.

Call it a thoroughly modern dilemma. You can get any style of shoe delivered right to your door in 24 hours via the Internet, but must sort through five pages of random Google results just to find the right number for the pizza joint down the street. Oh and P.S. — the hours on some robo-generated listing are completely wrong. Well East Haven Patch would hate to see anyone pizza-less and hungry (or without those killer boots) so that's why we launched East Haven Patch in November 2010 with the area's most comprehensive and detailed business directory. You can find descriptions, hours, what credit cards are accepted, even parking — all verified by an actual human being, and all 100 percent local. And no more driving around to a shop only to …

East Haven Readers' Choice: Kim's Nails

Nice! We love "Bistro"! In the short time it's been open, it's already become a favorite destination in town. It's our favorite restaurant in town, and we're so glad they're here. In fact, reading this makes me crave Mejillones al Vino Blanco (which is a dish with Prince Edward Island Mussels and garlic and ...Oh, you just have to try it...)! Glad to have Claudio & Co. so close by.   more ›
