‘No Parent Should Bury Their Children. I Know.'
A look at day's comments from Patch account holders in East Haven and beyond.
Hamden: “OMG no parent should bury their children. I know I lost my son at 2 . Such an empty feeling and a pain that will never ever go away. I feel for the Mother the most.” A high school senior died in an accident at Sleeping Giant Park in Hamden. The community mourns Tobias Engel.
East Haven:"61 comments regarding a vandalized sign. One comment on the student of the month. Misplaced priorities. Congratulation to all the students receiving awards." The town has been rife with controversy and negative headlines - especially now that an anti-mayor sign was vandalized. This commenter asks residents to look at some of the positive news.
Bethwood: "I don't care what Starbucks says any more than I care what some Hollywood celebrity says. I won't be going to Starbucks today but it's just because I don't drink coffee.” The Starbucks chain is the subject of a boycott after the company voiced its support for gay marriage. Some people, however, don’t put much stock in what the company says.
Cheshire: “It is good to see that the police are enforcing the 'no cell phone use while driving' law. My daughter and I have witnessed a few occasions where a person driving while on his/her cell phone were making sharp turns, etc. where an accident almost occurred.” In a listing of arrests and traffic violations, this reader was grateful the list was so song.
