'In the Words of Rhett Butler...'

A look at the comments from Patch account holders in East Haven and nearby towns.

Milford: “Hello?!?!?!? Approving this facility and its expansion would be so wrong in so many ways. What should have been a 'no brainer, no-go' has now escalated into a possible DEEP approval...what's up with that? I live nearby this potential environmental-disaster-waiting-to-happen and travel Naugatuck Avenue regularly. Go Reps. Rose, Roy, Davis, Senator Slossberg, Go Mayor, go surrounding neighborhood homeowners, make this go away.” A controversial trash plant is likely receiving approval from the state, much to the chagrin of Milford residents.

East Haven: “As to the title of this piece, in the words of Rhett Butler: ‘Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.’” A story’s headline asks where the snow this winter has been. This reader isn’t too concerned about the unseasonal weather.

Milford: “When will there be a ticker-tape parade for the vets returning from the Iraq war? Certainly if we can celebrate the winners of the Super Bowl, we can do the same for those who have put their lives on the line by honoring them with a parade. It seems to me that's the least we can do. Can you imagine being a vet and watching this parade while knowing that NYC can't or won't do the same for them?” The New York Giants celebrated their victory with a parade in Manhattan, but one reader wants to extend the honor to veterans.
