Brick Face of East Haven Apartment Building Collapses
An apartment building along Coe Avenue — which has been vacant since it was damaged during Hurricane Sandy — had portions of both its front and rear outside walls fall off Saturday afternoon.
No one was injured when the brick face of an apartment building along Coe Avenue in East Haven collapsed Saturday afternoon.
The complex, at 441 Coe Avenue, has been vacant since a section of its roof was ripped off during Hurricane Sandy last year.
On Saturday, portions of the building's front and rear brick veneer walls collapsed — and then fell off the structure.

Although high winds with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour or more have begun to whip through the area, East Haven Fire Assistant Chief Chuck Licata confirmed it is unknown at this time what caused the latest collapse at the building.
The incident remains under investigation.
